COURSE OUTLINE: Historically, it has been a challenge to align esthetic expectations of the patient, with the treatment realities of the providers of the esthetic services. DSD is a concept that affords an unprecedented opportunity for patients to co-author their smile design, and for providers to efficiently plan, communicate realistic treatment requirements, and collaborate with other members of the esthetic team. Rather than merely describe or occasionally show the patient the anticipated esthetic result, DSD allows the patient to “try in” the smile design they participated in creating. and experience how they “feel” with the proposed treatment result. Every Dentist will be excited that such possibilities are available in a format that is easy to learn, very cost effective, largely delegatable, and provided on a device they already own!
